This is an event in Leipzig for the international cacher community.
In April 2003, we had the dream, the Olympic Games 2012 would take place in Leipzig to show the world the booming metropolis. But things came different and something went wrong. In 2004 the dream of the games was destroyed. But not for a long time. We still want the games! So we decided to start our own:
“PROJECT: GeoGames 2012”!
Leipzig is waiting for you and looking forward to meet you.
There is plenty of everything:
- Games (known and unknown),
- Sport (from easy to extreme),
- Caches (old and many new ones)
- Food and drinks at various food stalls,
- a shopping mall with known and less known exhibitors,
- Entertainment - from the opening ceremony to the Dosenfischer concert and hopefully
- many, many cachers with high spirits and a desire to Leipzig!
The site is located directly on the Leipziger Messe and is expecting your visit from 29 June to 1 July 2012.
A highlight - in the truest sense of the word - will be TRAU DICH 75 (m)
The tower of the fair will be transformed into a cable railway: Take a ride on the rope above 75-meter if you dare to! Experienced industrial climbers will clamp a steel rope for more than 100m from the tower to the ground, and those who are chosen by lot from all the volunteers may show if they dare! For logistical reasons, unfortunately, only about 40 brave ones might experience the spectacle itself – because there is safety above everything else. On Friday evening the lottery drawing will be performed during the opening ceremony.
